Azienda Agricola Ferranti · Sicani Mountains

A story born from the land.
Carried forward every day.

From the 1960s to today, two generations have continued to work the same land, raise the animals and transform their milk in the family dairy.

The choice to stay

When many were leaving, three brothers chose to stay.

In the 1960s, while many young Sicilians were looking for work far from home, the Ferranti brothers chose the Sicani Mountains: to work here, grow here and build their future here.

In 1980 the second generation joined the business, working alongside the founders and gradually taking on a greater role in running the farm.

1960s

Ferranti begins

Land, animals and family work become the starting point of the farm.

1980

The second generation

The business grows without losing its connection with the territory.

Today

The same choice continues

The second generation carries forward work that began more than sixty years ago.

The farm today

300 hectares of fields, pastures and woodland.

In Castronovo di Sicilia, in the Sicani Mountains, we grow forage and cereals, raise cattle and sheep, and keep a direct connection between what grows on our land and what we use every day to feed our animals.

01

We grow

Forage and cereals are sown, harvested and stored on the farm.

02

We raise

Cattle and sheep are part of the same agricultural system.

03

We transform

The milk from our animals becomes Ferranti cheese.

From the land to the cheese

The dairy is where everything comes together.

In the dairy, the supply chain becomes daily work: milk is transformed through different gestures, processes and timings for each cheese.

This is where we make Pecorino Siciliano PDO, Caciocavallo, smoked Caciottone, Caciotta, Ricotta salata and Ricotta cream.

Continuity

Preserving what we received.
And passing it on to those who come next.

Two generations have passed since that choice in the 1960s. Over time, awards have recognised the work we have done without changing where everything begins: land, family and daily work.

Today we continue to care for what we received, with the aim of passing it on one day to the next generation.
